If you are like me and have eyebrows that don’t grow in certain places than you will understand how important a stay put eyebrow pencil is. I envy people who have thick gorgeous eyebrows with a beautiful arch-I have neither. I inherited this quirky feature from my mom where my eyebrows are short and they don’t have a tail to complete the arch.
Fall Nail Polish
I have to admit, I am a summer girl. I love everything about summer, the weather, the activities, vacations, fashion and even nail polish. I am not one who really follows seasonal trends in polish, I wear whatever color I feel like. However, in order to get myself excited about fall I picked up a few new polishes to kick off the season. I’ve been addicted to buying nail polish lately so these are only a few, stay tuned for a whole lot more. View Post
Wet n Wild Petal Pusher Palette and MAC Dupes – Smoky Eye
I decided to try out my Wet n Wild Petal Pusher palette tonight before we went out to dinner. In all honesty, I used it one time before and applied my makeup at 8AM and by 12:30AM I noticed it creasing on me. Tonight I used it just for the evening out and I did not have any creasing. I do believe the colors on this palette are really gorgeous. When I saw this palette at Ulta immediately I thought in my head, wow, there are a few noticable MAC dupes. I will point that out later in my post.
I used the three colors on the right from the bottom up and the top left color as my highlighter. I used the shimmery maroon color on the bottom left labeled “crease” for my lid, then applied the color on top in my crease. I then took the bottom black glittery color and defined the outer corner of my eye. Now I did feel that the eyeshadow did have a bit of fall out and was not as blendable as some of my other shadows but overall I was happy about the look it produced. And even bonus Wet n Wild is so reasonably priced!
As well, I had another fabulous find at Target this week, the Physicians Formula Organic Wear Eye Makeup Remover pads. I actually bought some MAC wipes last weeked that are unopened that are going back to Nordstrom because I found these! These little pads are just the right size to do a quick clean up of any fall out. Some added bonuses are that they are organic and they have a pleasant lavendar smell!
MAC Inspired Makeup
I have had a longstanding love affair with MAC. It was the first high end brand of makeup that I bought so it holds a special place is my heart. Yesterday I had a little time to sit down and play around with my makeup. I have been wanting to explore using MAC pigments so yesterday was the day. I used the MAC paint pot in the color Bare Study to prime my eye, then I used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese on my lid and inner corner to help the pigment stick and give my inner corner a little light. I then applied the MAC pigment in Naked on my lid. After that I took the MAC pigment in Melon and applied that on top of the Naked color with the exception of the inner corner. I then went in and cut my crease with the color Shale. For a little dimension I applied the color Club into my crease. I used the color Smut on my outer corners and applied in a “V” shape. As a final touch I took the color Vapour and used it to highlight my brown bone.
